AB-Attention: Accurate Block Attention for Accelerating Video Diffusion Transformers

Video diffusion transformers generate high-quality videos, but the quadratic cost of 3D full attention dominates their inference. Dynamic block-sparse attention reduces this cost by computing exact attention only on key/value blocks selected from current activations. However, its fidelity degrades under aggressive sparsity: blocks are scored from coarse summaries or formed by costly global clustering, pruned blocks vanish from the softmax, and whole tiles are kept or dropped even when only a few of their keys matter. To address these limitations, we propose Accurate Block Attention (AB-Attention), a training-free method that accurately approximates dense attention at high sparsity. Its Intra-Block Clustering Selector (IBCS) estimates block importance faithfully yet cheaply by clustering queries only within each query block, without permuting tokens. Sampling with Inclusion-Probability Weighting (SIP) then samples blocks in proportion to these estimates and reweights them by inverse inclusion probability, so that one pass estimates dense attention rather than truncating it. Finally, its kernel gathers key/value blocks much smaller than a tile into full tensor-core tiles, refining selection at no extra tensor-core cost. On Wan2.1 and HunyuanVideo, AB-Attention skips 89--92\% of attention, whereas the baselines compute 1.8--3.6times as much, yet it still improves PSNR by up to 4.4~dB over the strongest baseline and achieves up to 2.23times end-to-end speedup. Our code is available at https://github.com/InfRec-Cardinal/AB-Attention.

A Multicenter Benchmark of Multiple Instance Learning Models for Lymphoma Subtyping from HE-stained Whole Slide Images

Timely and accurate lymphoma diagnosis is essential for guiding cancer treatment. Standard diagnostic practice combines hematoxylin and eosin (HE)-stained whole slide images with immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and molecular genetic tests to determine lymphoma subtypes, a process requiring costly equipment, skilled personnel, and causing treatment delays. Deep learning methods could assist pathologists by extracting diagnostic information from routinely available HE-stained slides, yet comprehensive benchmarks for lymphoma subtyping on multicenter data are lacking. In this work, we present the first multicenter lymphoma benchmarking dataset covering four common lymphoma subtypes and healthy control tissue. We systematically evaluate five publicly available pathology foundation models (H-optimus-1, H0-mini, Virchow2, UNI2, Titan) combined with attention-based (AB-MIL) and transformer-based (TransMIL) multiple instance learning aggregators across three magnifications (10x, 20x, 40x). On in-distribution test sets, models achieve multiclass balanced accuracies exceeding 80% across all magnifications, with all foundation models performing similarly and both aggregation methods showing comparable results. The magnification study reveals that 40x resolution is sufficient, with no performance gains from higher resolutions or cross-magnification aggregation. However, on out-of-distribution test sets, performance drops substantially to around 60%, highlighting significant generalization challenges. To advance the field, larger multicenter studies covering additional rare lymphoma subtypes are needed. We provide an automated benchmarking pipeline to facilitate such future research.

L-FAME: Longitudinal Focused Attention Meditation EEG Dataset and Benchmark

We introduce a novel Longitudinal Focused Attention Meditation Electroencephalography (L-FAME) dataset and an accompanying benchmark, designed to foster research into the neural effects of various meditation practices and the evolution of these effects over a six-week training period. The dataset contains EEG recordings and psychological assessments from 74 healthy college participants, collected at two distinct time points: pre-intervention and post-intervention. Participants were randomly assigned to one of three distinct meditation groups: two mantra-based techniques (SA-TA-NA-MA and Hare Krishna) and one Breath Focus practice. Leveraging this unique longitudinal and comparative dataset, we propose a benchmark suite comprising three distinct classification tasks: (1) cognitive state decoding to distinguish between resting and meditation states, (2) fine-grained classification of the specific meditation techniques, and (3) cross-session adaptation to evaluate model generalization across the longitudinal time gap. We provide comprehensive baseline results for these tasks utilizing a range of classical machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures. The complete dataset, preprocessing pipelines, and benchmark evaluation code will be publicly released, offering a valuable resource and a standardized framework for the development and comparison of new analytical methods in computational meditation research and EEG-based machine learning. The dataset is available at https://huggingface.co/datasets/L-FAME-Dataset-Benchmark/L-FAME

The Role of Ab Initio Beta-Decay Calculations in Light Nuclei for Probes of Physics Beyond the Standard Model

Precision beta decay experiments serve as powerful probes of physics beyond the Standard Model, enabling stringent tests of fundamental symmetries of nature. In particular, these experiments primarily focus on precise determinations of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vud and the search for exotic weak currents, both of which depend critically on theoretical calculations of radiative, recoil-order, and isospin-breaking corrections with quantified uncertainties. In recent years, ab initio nuclear many-body methods--grounded in realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions and systematically improvable approximations--have advanced considerably in their ability to compute these higher-order corrections for various nuclei. This review provides a comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art ab initio calculations of beta-decay corrections, encompassing both radiative corrections and recoil-order terms, and examines their significance for precision tests of the Standard Model. We discuss the theoretical formalisms employed, including the integration of effective field theory frameworks with many-body approaches. Particular attention is given to recent results for superallowed Fermi decays (e.g., 10C -> 10B and 14O -> 14C) and allowed Gamow-Teller transitions (e.g., 6He -> 6Li, 8Li -> 8Be, 8B -> 8Be), where ab initio calculations have achieved unprecedented precision. We also highlight emerging calculations for unique forbidden decays, which offer complementary sensitivity to BSM physics. Finally, we outline future directions aimed at extending the reach of ab initio calculations to heavier nuclei and additional decay modes, thereby strengthening the synergy between theory and experiment in the ongoing search for new physics.

SpectraFormer: an Attention-Based Raman Unmixing Tool for Accessing the Graphene Buffer-Layer Signature on SiC

Raman spectroscopy is a key tool for graphene characterization, yet its application to graphene grown on silicon carbide (SiC) is strongly limited by the intense and variable second-order Raman response of the substrate. This limitation is critical for buffer layer graphene, a semiconducting interfacial phase, whose vibrational signatures are overlapped with the SiC background and challenging to be reliably accessed using conventional reference-based subtraction, due to strong spatial and experimental variability of the substrate signal. Here we present SpectraFormer, a transformer-based deep learning model that reconstructs the SiC Raman substrate contribution directly from post-growth partially masked spectroscopic data without relying on explicit reference measurements. By learning global correlations across the entire Raman shift range, the model captures the statistical structure of the SiC background and enables accurate reconstruction of its contribution in mixed spectra. Subtraction of the reconstructed substrate signal reveals weak vibrational features associated with ZLG that are inaccessible through conventional analysis methods. The extracted spectra are validated by ab initio vibrational calculations, allowing assignment of the resolved features to specific modes and confirming their physical consistency. By leveraging a state-of-the-art attention-based deep learning architecture, this approach establishes a robust, reference-free framework for Raman analysis of graphene on SiC and provides a foundation, compatible with real-time data acquisition, to its integration into automated, closed-loop AI-assisted growth optimization.

Alignment-Free Text-Audiobox for Voice Dubbing and Full-Duplex Dialogue Synthesis

We present Alignment-Free Text-Audiobox (Text-AB), a unified framework for high-quality voice dubbing and full-duplex dialogue synthesis. Building on a Diffusion Transformer trained with a flow-matching objective, Text-AB departs from the Audiobox system along three dimensions. First, it operates in a latent diffusion framework using DAC-VAE features that encode 48 kHz waveforms into a 25 Hz latent sequence, giving over 10x higher compression than previous EnCodec representations while improving resynthesis quality. Second, Text-AB is alignment-free: it consumes raw text via an off-the-shelf text encoder and learns text-speech alignment through cross-attention, removing the need for forced alignment and explicit duration prediction. Third, we scale model and data substantially, pretraining a 3B-parameter model on 480k hours of monolingual speech, followed by supervised fine-tuning on three downstream tasks: cross-lingual voice dubbing, full-duplex dialogue synthesis, and emotional full-duplex dialogue synthesis. At inference, Text-AB supports one-shot generation for up to ~1 min of speech and arbitrarily long-form generation via a multi-diffusion scheme, plus a multi-stage reranking strategy that enhances quality based on automated metrics. On a real-world dubbing benchmark, Text-AB delivers a step-change improvement over the latest internal dubbing system, with large gains in prosody similarity, voice similarity, naturalness, and shareability. For full-duplex dialogue synthesis, it approaches human recordings on short-form conversations and substantially outperforms the latest internal model on long-form human-likeness and expressivity, while natively modeling turn-taking, back-channeling, and emotional dynamics. For emotional dialogue synthesis, emotion conditioning significantly improves emotion alignment and emotional interaction quality over the unconditioned baseline.
